Profit.FM – By Michael Johnson and Gary Prendergast

Profit.FM, which is short for Profit Focused Marketing is a new joint venture between Micheal Johnson and Gary Prendergast.  They are both Internet Marketing veterans with Michael Johnson being best known as the creator of the Autoblog Blueprint, a course that personally taught me everything I know about autoblogging.  Gary Prendergast is the creator of the series of “PIG” products (BlogPIG, CloakPIG, CommentPIG, etc.).

What is Profit.FM?

Profit.FM is intended to be a complete product which will take you from A-Z in Internet and Affiliate Marketing. From Niche Marketing, similar to what Mike Johnson did with the Autoblog Blueprint (but multi-faceted and much more comprehensive), to creating your own products and marketing them. Profit.FM will be a complete portal for learning and building your business online.

While it may be based around a singular concept (building a successful Internet Marketing business), Profit.FM is NOT a singular technique.  You will be taught how to implement different strategies and diversify your business.

Profit.FM is the natural progression of that honest and forthright approach to helping others realize their potential in Internet and Affiliate Marketing.  -Michael Johnson

The product has just been released, but this what I can tell you so far:  Profit.FM is made up of (1) detailed content and a (2) set of premium tools.

Profit.FM Content

Profit.FM is pretty robust, so any experience level (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) should be able to benefit from it.  You will be provided with access to the following:

• A library of premium wordpress themes valued at over $1,000
• 2 content-only webinars per month
• Over 150 videos (not including tutorials)
• An active member’s forum to fill in any gaps
• An integrated feedback system (this will allow members to describe what topics they would like to learn more about, influencing new content that will be added)

Additionally, you also get access to Manage.FM and Niche.FM:

• Manage.FM – a complete system which will allow you to easily build and update your WordPress blogs.
• Niche.FM – A research tool that will make it easy to find and exploit niches

I think it’s important to note that Profit.FM is not expected to be a “static” product.  The developers have indicated that they expect it to grow and change over time.  We all know that Internet Marketing is a fast moving industry, so you’d expect any course you purchase to be updated accordingly.  That being said, Profit.FM is a monthly membership course, although they currently have a lifetime membership option available (I don’t know if they will allow new members to purchase lifetime memberships following the launch or if they will remove the option).

Profit.FM Plugins

I love tools that automate tasks or help me be more efficient, and it’s especially comforting when you have multiple tools that you know were developed to complement each other well.

Some of these tools may sound similar to products that already exist, but they are purported to be brand new (with different features) and have been designed from the ground up. 

• Landing.FM – This allows you to create landing pages without having to modify your theme.  It provides tremendous power and flexibility, so you will be able to build review pages, squeeze pages with any theme.
• Social.FM – This is a powerful social plugin that integrates your blog with Facebook, Twitter and Google.  Of course, it does everything you’d expect (auto-posting, social media widgets, sharing, etc.), but it also includes much more.  For instance, you’ll get a Facebook Fan Page builder with a simple drag-and-drop interface.  This will allow you to create content within Facebook, or require visitors to “Like” your site before getting access to content.  You’ll have Google Maps integration, multiple shortcodes, Open Graph integration, and more.
• Tag.FM – This is an optimized tagging plugin.  It will allow you to auto-tag your posts through keyword association.
• Content.FM – It has a drag-and-drop interface to pull content from different data sources.  It can also be used to build affiliate data feeds.
• Spin.FM – This will leverage the data pulled from Content.FM.  It is a completely new plugin, not just a different version of Mike Johnson’s WP-Spin.  You are provided with four ways to spin your content:  (1) internally from a database; (2) using The Best Spinner API; (3) using SpinChimp API; (4) using Spin Rewriter.
• Cloak.FM – This is a link cloaking and SEO plugin.  It has a neat feature that allows cookie pre-loading, which can be done only on the actual page if you choose.

I’ve done my best to provide as much information as possible, but please understand I am not associated with this product in any way.  All the details I’ve provided have been organized through my personal research. 

Profit.FM Review

In the spirit of providing an honest Profit.FM review, I’ve laid out everything I know about the product.  That being said, I think the course offers a lot of great content, and it looks like they “over delivered” on their promises. 

The premise of the plugins are sound and they seem to work as advertised.  I already own some similar tools, so this stuff wasn’t so valuable to me, but it’s definitely a nice bundle of plugins for those that don’t have anything similar.

Unfortunately, I don’t find the site’s user interface to be very easy to navigate, but I hope they are able to improve on this at some point.  They attempted to design the site in a way that allows users to highlight and/or provide feedback on the content.  I’ve seen other sites use similar formats, but I find that it makes navigating the site a little to confusing.  Maybe I’ll get used to it at some point, though.

Overall, I think Mike and Gary put together a great course, but they could have done a better job in presenting the information.
